Vaz Te is training with......
BURY?!

From Manchester news

BURY boss David Flitcroft left the door open for a possible move for Ricardo Vaz Te after admitting the former Bolton Wanderers, Barnsley and West Ham striker was training with the club.

The 28-year-old forward scored 12 goals in 24 appearances at Oakwell under the guidance of Flitcroft in the 2011/12 Championship season.

The most prolific period of his career followed a stop-start seven-year apprenticeship at Bolton under Sam Allardyce, which was followed by a brief spell at Hibernian.

Vaz Te’s six-month stint at Barnsley convinced Allardyce to give him a shot in the Premier League with the Hammers and he spent three years at Upton Park, scoring 19 times in 61 matches.

But the Portuguese front man is without a club after moving to Turkish side Akhisar B on a short-term contract in January.

And Flitcroft said he was only too happy to assist when Vaz Te called asking for help with his fitness.

“Ricardo Vaz Te had a very successful spell with us at Barnsley, very successful, obviously he got his move to West Ham through it,” he said on Tuesday night, after the striker was spotted in the directors’ box at Gigg Lane."

Currently Carlton Cole is back at Chadwell Heath surely Vaz te could have bee given a chance since he also out of contract.

Would do a good job for somebody at Championship level.

Vaz Te is simply not good enough for the Prem. He's better than Bury though.

He more or less singlehandedly got us promoted that season, so nothing but admiration for the bloke. Easily good enough for a top championship side.

An on-form and confident RVT is good enough for the lower reaches of the Prem. Hopefully he''ll get a Championship team and score some goals to get them promoted, then get his chance (again).

Quite a drop down considering it was only a few years ago he was playing in premier league.

To be far, he's just training until he finds a club.

Better than Maiga at a fraction of his wages...

One thing we all agree on, we would prefer him on the bench then Maiga. I think Maiga on three and half times more Vaz Te

I liked him. Never given enough credit for his work rate. When him and Demel played together on the same side it was impenetrable.

Doesn't make a lot of sense, Vaz Te's career since promotion. Far from this 'you end up at the level you deserve' bollocks, there's no real rhyme or reason to it a lot of the time, it seems to me.

Re: Vaz Te is training with......
Clearly a much better player for us than Maiga. To be fair he contributed goals, some rare creativity in a pretty bleak period, and a great goal celebration. Maiga on the other hand...

That is your opinion, which appears to be shared by many, but it is incorrect to see "we all agree", because we do not.

In my opinion, Maiga has been unfairly judged on his performances in a "one up top" system with James Collins providing the "creativity".
Similarly for Big Carlton.

With specific regard to Vaz Te, he is a MASSIVE lightweight that very occasionally did something good.

Bury are putting a good team together, they just signed the best lower league centre forward, Tom Pope from port vale

Ronald, I gave Maiga the benefit of the doubt before the start of the season to which I said

4 June Well hopefully he would sharpen up he act by learning from Sakho on how to adapt to English football considering that he also played for Metz.

but the man is pants, he couldn't cut in the Championship for QPR when they were playing with 2 up front...

We can agree to differ on his capabilities.

If the Bilic era is what many seem to think it will be, I reckon he'll do well.

If he does well go then for him but right now he needs to pull his socks up and improve. He's on his final year of his contract and looking at his current performance, he's not likely to get a new one.
